Meet the team: Lizbeth Hernandez, Talent + Leadership Editor and Human Resources student

Lizbeth Hernandez, Human Resources professional, was born and raised in the small town of Aguadilla in Puerto Rico. She later moved to San Juan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. She was involved in the Society of Human Resources Association (SHRM) and was a collaborator for Her Campus. Currently, she is pursuing the Master in Talent Development & Human Resources at HST.

About Lizbeth, human resources guru

Here’s a little about me. I’m passionate about human resources and helping others achieve their full potential. I think that’s what HR is really all about—applied psychology combined with business. As an introverted people-person, I like to look at the ways people’s workplace experience can be improved. My ultimate goal is to make a difference as a human resources professional.

As an INFJ, I feel more comfortable in small groups or by myself. Still, this pandemic has boosted my desire to break out of my shell and spend more time interacting with others (virtually, of course). In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading, and learning how to cook.

This opportunity with Rewire Mag is exciting because I love reading about people’s stories. I’m also excited to collaborate with the team! I’ve only had one previous similar experience with Her Campus, and it was wonderful. The only thing I look back on and wish I’d done differently is joining from the very beginning, so I’m delighted I get to do it here with Rewire.

Just as with cooking, I’m also improving my social media use. I’m following almost all IE University student clubs to learn more about everything that happens on our campus and in our student community. I look forward to writing about these stories and what happens in the world of HST.
